FMC 2015

Postby fatty » Mon Dec 29, 2014 7:37 pm

Well, it's that time of year again. The SJC has put together another Fat Man Challenge for 2015. Limited to 12 jeeps this year. If you went last year, you know what's in store for you. Will post route, dates, requirements , menus and prizes a little later. This year gift bag will be one of a kind along with nightly drawings. This is not a club sponsored event so being a member is not required.

Thought that was a nice touch.

Donation and dates of trip are still being established. Plan on 60$ per person (12 jeep max). This will include 4 Dutch oven dinners and deserts, cocktails, gambling, t shirts, gift bag, nightly drawings for prizes blah blah blah. Individuals will be responsible for camp fees, wheeling fees, their own breakfast, lunch and tow service if required. Looking at first of June for trip. Once you pay for the spot on the trip, you own it. If you can't go, you're welcome to sell it to someone else (no refunds of donation).

Plan for 600+ miles, 2-3 states in 5 days with 300 miles on the final day.
Jeep must be able to travel 150 miles between stops and move along at 60 mph on the hwy.
no Dana 35's allowed
locker front or rear (both are recommended)
35" min tire size (no max) full size spare
Winch or a good buddy willing to drag you back out
All your gear and spare parts loaded with you
CB in vehicle (not required to work good :D )
Will be on back highways for most of the trip but there will be 1 section of toll road
There will be 1 chase vehicle for catastrophic failures to get you to nearest town but may not be able to get you home (translation = prepare and bring lots of cash). No whining.
