1999 TJ Built

Postby Bugeater » Tue Feb 24, 2015 9:41 pm

This comes from a friend of mine in Tulsa. His name is Rick and you text him at 918-946-6426 with any questions, offers. What follows is his account of the Jeep for sale.

OK here is the list of everything that I have done to the jeep.
it's a 1999 TJ with 160K miles. Soft top with a safari sunscreen top. Full Hard Doors.
New BFG KM2 35" tires
New Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks
Rough Country 6" lift
Teraflex Long arm conversion
Currie Steering (drag link and tie rod set up) Currie "Anti Rock" sway bar Steering box brace Smitybilt flat fenders (front) Smitybilt fender flares
(rear) Smitybilt front stinger bumper Full spare rear bumper Rock Sliders
(steps) Pure Jeep Gas Tank Skid Front Axle: Superior dana30 shafts (these are the same diameter as the dada44. the only difference is the spline count. it lets you use the dana44 u-joint and outer shaft) with Aussie locker. Yukon 4.56 r&p Rear Axle: Ford 8.8 with Superior Axle "Super 88"
kit. Eliminates the c-clip and widens the axle to stock length. They boast it is as strong as a stock dana60. You also get disc brakes in the rear as an added bonus. Has an EATON electric locker with Yukon 4.56 r&p Custom front and rear driveshafts Super Short slip yoke eliminator Optima Red top battery

OK so that is the off-roading upgrades. There are a few mechanic things that have been done:
New aluminum Drake Radiator(6 months ago the old one gave out and the jeep
overheated) Brand new head (after it over heated I discovered it blew the head gasket so spent the extra $ and put a brand new head in it) Brand new exhaust header Brand new O2 sensors New spark plugs replaced the rear main seal about a year ago (NO oil leaks at all !) replaced the water pump a few years ago KN air filter throttle body spacer

So here are the only things wrong at the moment A/C went out at the end of the summer. I am about to get it fixed.
The gas tank only like to get 3/4 full. Before i had the tank skid I bashed on a rock and got a leak in the top of the old tank. When I put the salvage tank it, the float stops it like it the smaller tank. you can feather the gas pump and get it full but you will over flow if not careful.
There is a tear on top the the speaker bar there i got into a tree.
Rock rash. The rock sliders have some and there are some scratches on the doors. Obviously this is not a mall crawler.

As it sits in the driveway right this moment I would take $8500. After I fix the A/C and paint the rock sliders and rear bumper and clean it up I would take $9500. I haven't got it listed yet and it will take a couple weeks for me to do the couple maint. things I mentioned. Like I said it runs and drives great. Just needs the A/C fixed and a little touch up.

The Jeep really runs well and I drive it on the highway 70 mph no problem.
It is amazing off road. I keep up with just about everyone. Knowing that I need to drive ithome keeps me from trying some of the "extreme" trails but someone with a bigger set of you know what ( and a pocket book ) could probably tackle anything.
I LOVE this jeep.
