Egr? P0406

Postby OffRoadTech » Wed Mar 19, 2014 6:24 am

I've been having a few problems on the jeep recently. Occasionally feels slightly sluggish but not too bad. I've had the same code coming up off and on for a while, P0406. I've read a few places on replacing the egr valve. Has anyone performed this on theirs? I will admit I was embarrassed to find it very low on oil. I put amsoil in it the last time and had not been monitoring the levels. I am now monitoring to see if it's lowering still. I've got a 2009 I've been debating on ordering the part in for. Also most likely non related is P0581 cruise control code. I repeated a few fuses near the engine block and it appeared to work once before not turning on again. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I done it on mine. It was pretty easy. My jk was using a little oil and i read a lot of places on forums the egr valves were crap causing that. Replaced mine and it quit using oil.

Ended up being a pain in the ass to get to and work with. Transmissions dipstick was in the way but was a little prepared after reading write-ups on other sites. So far it seems to be a large improvement.
