Re: 1991 xj
Do you have flared fenders and what size tires? You could cut some of the fenders out. I have a 2000 XJ Cherokee with factory flared fenders. I put a 3in lift on it about 6 months ago. I also went to 31x10.5x15 tires. No problems as of this time. Of course I haven't gotten crazy with it yet. I will do more after I ger some after market flared fender on it and trim some of the actual fenders.

I have a 2000 XJ Cherokee. I bought my 3" lift kit with the new leaf springs. I would say, you old springs are already fatigued, so why not just spend a few extra dollars for the ones that come with a suspension lift. Hope things work out for ya, Good luck.
