And so it begins...

Postby desertratt » Sun Aug 19, 2012 8:26 pm

Not being able to leave well enough alone, let the XJ build begin

Got a Rough Country 3" lift on order tonite, kit also comes with lower control arms and shocks. Added the extended shackles to help compinsate for old leaf springs.

When I install, I think I'll stack some 1" front spring isolators that I already have. Along with the extended shackles, I should end up with around 4" of lift. Should be plenty of room for the 31" Definity Dakota M/T's that came off of our Bronco 2. If they look too small I might have to go with our 33" Trxus tires we got laying around.

Plus I have new cooling parts to install, along with a Dilly approved dual electric fan setup for the radiator.

Lets see... Also my salvaged head unit, subs, CB. Some new driving lights(rectangle, not round  )

Still need to decide if I will need to trim the flares...

Now to find time to do all of this before WFTW.

I have a set of bfg a/t 33s on the tj Alcoa (polished) rims. I was about o list them on CL. They'd fit this, have lots of tread (80%) and are balanced. Lemme know if you're interested.

Let's party! We can all point and hold a wrench. It can be like extreme 4x4 and be done in a 1/2 hr show. The S.J.C can do the rear. I hear good at that. Lol
