Any cool projects/mods for YJs?

Postby dg93yj » Wed Oct 03, 2012 9:01 pm

Hello, YJs.

I really want to put some work into my YJ right now. I feel as though it has been neglected for too long.

What are some must-haves/must-dos to make my YJ a studly off-roader?

(I have a 2.5" lift [I think...] with 31x10.5x15 General Grabber AT2s, cold air intake.)

It was nice to meet you Tuesday night at Sauced, glad you could make it out.

If you do everything listed above you would have a pretty incredible jeep. It might be helpful for you to give some info as to your budget/end goal with the Jeep, in order to get some better feedback. That being said, based upon what you told me about your Jeep, I would suggest re-gearing your axles and some lockers.
I used to own a Jeep, and it was cooler then yours.

I would say that you should put in a fuel injected 350, Dana 44/60, 36" tires and ARB's. That is what I would if it was my Jeep.

I think Pete is right, decide what you want to do with your jeep and what is your end goal. A mud truck will be different than a rock crawler and a overlander. I have always tried to mod mine for what I saw other people break. So far, so good.

Comp cut corners and stretch it front and rear with some xj mains using your current springs. Just re-drill the center holes. Buy a 9" and hp44 and hummer wheels and tires and you'll be good to go.
Look at that, a SILVER Jeep!
