New bigger tires.... bumpstop lengths needed...

Postby paul0731 » Fri Jul 06, 2012 1:59 pm

So, I had a puncture in the parking lot at work today. Naturally, the correct thing to do is head to discount tires and buy some 33x12.5x15's duratrac to replace your worn 31 old school kuhmo mud tires. I'll have a 2 in bds spring lift on this weekend. What size bumpstops do I need? I'll be putting a 1.25 jks body lift and a motor mount lift on in a few weeks too. I think I need a pair of 2" and a pair of 1" bump stops.

I'll be saving up for a real lift soon enough, I'd love a savy, but this is about the only way I can go and meet the wife approval factor.

Although, my tj looks like the old stomper toys of my youth right now. All meats, no room in the fenders.

The best way i know how to figure that out is to jack up one corner at a time to full stuff, and measure the gap at the bumpstop.

Thanks, I appreciate the help.... I pretty much just have to figure stuff out on my own or from forums as I really have no friends or family with mechanical experience.

I've been wanting to go to a meeting for a while, but I don't have Tuesday evenings free.

I'll measure for bumpstops after I put on a body lift and mml. Again, thanks for the help.
